Anya Kosachevich
Anya Kosachevich is a Ukrainian-American Soprano born and raised in New Jersey. From the age of seven, she has been passionate about vocal performance and has had the opportunity to grow and develop through performing internationally across festivals, recitals, and other events where she still is an active guest. Anya’s first voice teacher was Natalie Iosebidze, who left a great impact on her and taught her to sing and love every genre of music. Our dearly missed Natalie (DMus) taught Anya for four years (from ages 14 through 18) and is the inspiration, constant, and reason for our foundation.
Anya competed in the Sanremo Song Festival Junior Competition in Italy at 14 years old and won the second prize. At 16 years old, Anya was invited to sing the Ukrainian National Anthem at both Madison Square Garden and the Prudential Center solidifying her love for live performance. She graduated from a Georgian music college as well after graduating from Natalie's School of Performing Arts with a diploma. Within the same year, she also performed live with singer Pavlo Tabakov in Lviv, Ukraine, and had her debut with a classical program at the Grazhda Music Festival in Hunter, New York. Shortly thereafter, as she took on NYU’s vocal performance program, while balancing college in the United States online. She had the opportunity to be a two-time guest soloist with the Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra in Princeton, NJ, and sing in both the Setúbal CantoFest and Barcelona Festival of Song.
Recently, her operatic roles include Yvette in Pucinni’s La Rondine, Cis in Britten’s Albert Herring, Suzanna in Le nozze di Figaro, and Second Lady/Second Spirit in Mozart’s Die zauberflöte. At New York University, she was also the covering soloist for Mahler Symphony IV with the NYU Orchestra, where she achieved her Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance. While she was at NYU, she also studied vocal pedagogy, a healthy teaching technique for singers for all genres. Anya is currently pursuing her Master of Music degree in Classical Voice at Manhattan School of Music and has begun working at Natalie's SOPA, specializing in voice (Classical/Musical Theatre / Pop / Jazz / Country / Rap) lessons.
